Solar Emergency Evacuation Route
MCG proposed a strategy and secured funding for a $1.3 million solar infrastructure project in the City of Boston that deploys renewable energy resources in support of the City’s emergency response infrastructure.
This includes solar supported battery back-up systems for critical intersections as well as the City’s main vehicle fueling station. MCG additionally assisted the Department of Public Works, Boston Transportation Department, and the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Preparedness in managing project implementation. This first-in-the-nation project is designed to improve the City’s resilience to climate-related emergencies and other disasters.
