Solar Boston Initiative
MCG coordinates Solar Boston, the City’s solar partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) through the Solar America City (SAC) Initiative.
Under Solar Boston, MCG has supported the City’s efforts to align its clean energy permitting, zoning, and procurement processes with national best practices, and to facilitate the competitive procurement and installation of solar electric and solar thermal installations. MCG has served as an independent technical advisor (drafting RFPs, reviewing bids, and providing technical oversight, etc.) for eight City-sponsored solar projects, totaling more than 400 kW of PV capacity.
