Renewable Energy Integration in Remote Communities

The IEA contracted MCG to address energy concerns of remote communities and identify appropriate policies to mitigate dependence on fossil fuels.

MCG is assessing viable and cost-effective renewable energy options to replace fossil fuels, and is providing solutions for financing and integrating off-grid and micro-grid renewable energy systems. The energy transition process in remote communities holds important lessons for centralized grids, as continental-scale energy systems increasingly confront similar integration challenges.
