New York City’s Long-term Solar Strategy
Under the auspices of the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Million Solar Roofs Program and the Solar America City (SAC) Partnership in New York City, MCG facilitated a series of workshops to develop policy recommendations for the municipal solar energy initiative.
Many of the solar policy recommendations developed during these workshops were subsequently integrated in Mayor Bloomberg’s long-term planning strategy, PlaNYC 2030, including the first-in-the-nation municipal renewable energy property tax abatement. More recently, MCG collaborated with New York City solar stakeholders to re-assess and update the City’s long-term solar strategy, which led to a comprehensive plan to drive vibrant solar market growth in New York City.
