EDF Climate Corps and MCG recently co-developed a new research report on the rapid growth of clean energy and sustainability jobs in the US.
The Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) Climate Corps and Meister Consultants Group (MCG) recently co-developed/co-authored a new research report titled “Now Hiring: The Growth of America’s Clean Energy & Sustainability Jobs.” Based on extensive research led by MCG, the report outlines the growth and state of employment in renewable energy, energy efficiency, advanced vehicles, and other sustainability-related sectors. The report draws on recent data from the U.S. Department of Energy and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), among others, to estimate that clean energy and sustainability jobs currently represent 4-4.5 million jobs in the U.S., up from around 3.4 million in 2011. The report also highlights how clean energy and sustainability sectors are vastly outpacing the rest of the U.S. economy in growth and job creation, generating more jobs per dollar invested.
MCG has previously collaborated with EDF Climate Corps to develop analysis and communications materials related to strategic energy management. This includes co-developing a 2016 report titled “Scaling Success: Recent Trends in Organizational Energy Management” and creating executive communications materials outlining the Virtuous Cycle Framework for Strategic Energy Management, a concept developed by EDF in collaboration with researchers at MIT Sloan School of Management.
