MCG Advises Feed-In Tariff Thought Leaders; Announces FIT Training Session

Boston, February 2010: Meister Consultants Group is experiencing significant growth in demand for its unique feed-in tariff (FIT) expertise. "We are seeing increasing interest in best practices for renewable energy policy," says Wilson Rickerson, Executive Vice President of MCG. MCG clients range from investment banks to government agencies, and services provided include FIT design and program evaluation. MCG’s recent FIT consulting engagements culminated in the publication of four new reports, covering such topics as policy design best practices, investor perspectives on renewable energy financing, legal feasibility of feed-in tariffs in the US, and arguments for and against renewable energy policy.

• Advancing a Sustainable Solar Future SEMI PV Group Policy Principles and Recommended Best Practices for Solar Feed-in Tariffs
  The SEMI PV Group promotes the interests of PV manufacturers around the world. MCG worked with SEMI to develop a solar energy policy position based on international best practices, with a focus on feed-in tariffs.
• Paying for Renewable Energy: TLC at the Right Price
  MCG served as a technical advisor to Deutsche Bank Climate Change Advisors’ landmark study on global feed-in tariff design from an investor’s perspective.
• Renewable Energy Prices in State-Level Feed-in Tariffs: Federal Law Constraints and Possible Solutions
  MCG worked with a team led by the National Regulatory Research Institute (NRRI) and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) to conduct a legal analysis of potential US state and federal policy interactions.
• FITness Testing: Exploring the Myths and Misconceptions about Feed-in Tariff Policies
  MCG supported the World Future Council’s efforts to disseminate information on FiTs by preparing a memo exploring recent criticisms of renewable energy policy, and of feed-in tariffs specifically.

Training session: MCG will be co-sponsoring a FIT Workshop on Friday February 26th, 2010 in Boston Mass, focusing on feed-in tariff rate setting approaches.  The workshop will be run by Bernard Chabot, an international expert on FIT rate-setting.
